BAY RING ROAD MOTORWAY. PARBAYON CACICEDO SECTION

APIA XXI Group is closely linked to this infrastructure, having participated in all the phases of its development. As the designer, APIA XXI drafted the construction project for the Parbayón – Cacicedo section and was later awarded the contract for the “Adaptation of three Construction Projects: Peñacastillo – Cacicedo (key: 48-S-4070), Parbayón – Cacicedo (key: 48-S-4600) and San Salvador de Heras – Parbayón (key: 48-S-4610)”.

In addition, the joint venture APIA XXI S.A.-GEOPLANK S.A. is currently undertaking the ‘Technical Assistance to the Management Team of the Works for the Ring-road Motorway of the Santander Bay’. Section: Parbayón – Cacicedo, this section being the most technically complex of the three.

Finally, we would like to note that the Environmental Management tasks are also being carried out, as is the Management of the Expropriation Dossier for the entire ring-road motorway for the Santander Bay.

Our colleagues from the Hydraulics department are involved in the current Control and Surveillance tasks; Felipe Sánchez Head of the Works Unit, Francisco Gómez, Falko Schmidt, Javier Zabala, Cesar Grande and Juan José de Cos. The Environmental Management Team consists of Raquel Gómez de Barreda and Sergio Marcos. Finally, the personnel from the Expropriations Management department, who work daily on the management of the related dossiers, consist of César Poyatos, Pablo Varela and Guadalupe Gutiérrez.

The construction work began in February 2007, with a 48 month period to completion. It is 40% finished. On March 3, the first section of the ring-road, Peñacastillo – Cacicedo and 1,500 m belonging to the Parbayón – Cacicedo section were put into service, with former Public Works Minister, Magdalena Álvarez, in attendance.
