Technical bases for the dynamism of large infrastructures and laminate conductions
For many of the currently used techniques manuals exist that explain the techniques used, but it is rare for the modern manual to incorporate the latest techniques in a simple way as regards practical application as much as assimilation on the part of the student. For this reason an update of these manuals is proposed by way of works on concrete aspects being developed presently in the enterprise. These concrete works will result in articles that will little by little form the framework of the final technical bases manual. From the perspective of the enterprise, the development of these technical bases manuals will allow the execution of projects in a much more efficient and competitive, something absolutely necessary in this global world. All the aforementioned promotes, likewise, the development of conclusions and theories not previously formulated, which will supply the University scholar with previously unpublished research works, as has been happening in the development of previous agreements and with the punctual collaboration of students. It is not only necessary to derive considerations on standardization but also to obtain new theories supporting these standards in a simple manner.

Automatic traffic sensor system (SISAT)
La Sociedad para el Desarrollo Regional de Cantabria (SODERCAN) ha concedido un nuevo proyecto de Investigación y Desarrollo que se enmarca en el programa INVESNOVA 2004. Este proyecto, denominado SISAT, estudiará la medida automática de los flujos de tráfico en calzadas multicarril y será realizado por el Grupo de Ingeniería Fotónica de la Universidad de Cantabria en coordinación con el Departamento de Transporte y Urbanismo de la empresa.SISAT busca lograr una alternativa a los tradicionales sistemas no permanentes de medida automática de flujos en calzadas, habitualmente en forma de gomas que se cruzan en las carreteras y que son poco fiables y de rápida degradación. En contrapartida, se desarrollará un sistema de sensores sin intervención humana basado en la medida de la distorsión de campos magnéticos, que se comunicará con tecnología inalámbrica a través de una unidad de interconexión con flujímetros electrónicos para la recopilación y análisis de los datos. El principio de medida está basado en la detección de la distorsión del campo magnético terrestre al paso del vehículo. Los sensores se colocan en la superficie de la calzada y, mediante un sistema de procesamiento, detectan el paso de los vehículos y su velocidad. Esta información es transmitida de forma inalámbrica a un dispositivo situado fuera de la carretera, que almacenará los datos para su posterior descarga y análisis.

Modelation and Programming in the calculation of structures
In the work surroundings it turns out useful to count on tools of design and calculation of structures that simplify the most common problems that, in spite of not being able to include itself in an only methodology, they allow the resolution of partial tasks in a way more effective, taking advantage of human and economic resources. The objective is to concentrate and to simplify tasks that usually do not include any of the commercial applications, as for example the creation of notes of calculation associated to the analyses carried out, allowing and facilitating the inclusion of all the data and results that provide the programs, besides of adapting all these programs to the effective norms on the calculation of national and european structures.

Flujimeter of electronic traffic (FLUTE)
This project, made in association with the Group of Photonic Engineering of the University of Cantabria and with the partial financing of SODERCAN (Society for the Regional Development of Cantabria) has consisted of the design and accomplishment of a set of electronic devices apt for the measurement of traffic flows, as much of manual form as automatic. A design field has been validated that allows the disminution of costs of accomplishment of manual traffic surveys.

Modeled of mineral seams for the cubing, valuation of reserves and analysis of the impact produced by the accomplishment of infraestructures of civil work in its surroundings
A new computer science application associated to a SIG commercial program has been developed, applied to volumes that through the association of a data base to the graphic information in 3D, allowes to the obtaining of complex data about the modelizated structure and the accomplishment of multiple advanced calculations. With the developed methodology it is possible to investigate the morphology, depth, location of the mineral seams, etc. allowing to know the repercussion of the infrastructure implantation.
